error after install of fat client

After installing a fat client with our DV environment, when signing on, the
user gets the following error:
Unable to open the Data Source for the Menu Data Files. One World will
exit.
Please advise.

I would check the obvious (network connection to the F0082 file on the AS400, ODBC datasource setup correctly on the client) but I received this error just last week after installing a SP22 update package with the foundation only. The update install failed because some file was locked and it wiped out most of the files in the B7\system folder on the client and the pathcode was messed up. Check the \system folder and the path code under the B7 on the client. The path code should have a minimum of bin32,data,res, and spec. Your spec folder might be missing or damaged.

I have now tried to do an install of my DV package and my TS package on
separate machines in our training room and I am receiving the same message.
any other clues out there?

is your DataSource for the Control Tables - Test working? Did you change the mapping for F0082,821,83,84 for this environment?
