RE: SP22 & SP22 F1

I don't know if this is fixed in F1 OneOff (we have D1), but the PRINTQUEUE
file is reformatted in SP22, so once the SP is applied, we could not view
any PDFs in submitted jobs where they were created prior to the SP. This
is how I got around the problem if someone wanted the PDF:

Open Acrobat.
Navigate to B7334SYSBK library, PRINTQUEUE file.
Open the member with the corresponding Job# in JDE Submitted Jobs
Save it. Probably to your, or the requestor's H:\Printqueue directory would
be best

See also document OTI-03-0109 re: a parm being left off the CPYF command in
special instructions.

We also had a problem with GL batches containing subledgers not posting,
which was fixed with ESU JD20078 (SAR#6343258)

We also experienced errors on various business functions in applications if
we deployed a package to the ES during the day. There is a PTF: SI09018 that
is supposed to fix this if you are on V5R2. It is on, but we won't IPL until
Sunday, so I can't tell you if it works yet. Until then, we only deploy
when we can get users off the system. (We are re-evaluating our server
deployment strategies to consider using the scheduler to do this when we
have shut down our Citrix servers for the AS/400 backup at night.)

You may want to look at ESU JD20200 also, as we could not add OMW Activity
Rules after the update. This fixed it the problem.

We are also having a problem with table conversion UBEs, specifically
R09501. There is a SAR in the works for this: SAR #6748458

I think that's all...other than those things, it seemed to go OK.

Good luck!

Thanks for the update, lessardj. Very useful information here.

Have you reported this, did you open up an issue or get a SAR# for this?

Yes, call #5776656, Scott Watson handled it. He explained the reason for
the change in the PRINTQUEUE format was to accommodate IBM AFP printing. No
SAR is scheduled, but I asked that they put something on Breaking News to
warn others installing SP22. The workaround is as I posted in my original
note.

If you're planning a SP22 install, I'd give support a call first to see if
they have included a fix in a later one-off. I used SP22_D1.

RE: SP22 & SP22 F1

Try the following to fix the pdf formats in the Printqueue when going to SP22

From an NT, start an FTP to the as400.
set binary mode.
cd to the old system library.
run the command "get printqueue.f239"
cd to the new system library.
run the command "put printqueue.f239"
Now see if the job F239 is downloadable.

Re: RE: RE: SP22 & SP22 F1

Thanks for the info. Post if you get a SAR# for the call number you posted.

Just put down SP22 and F1 this past weekend and the fix is not in the F1 oneoff.

Grant.

Re: RE: SP22 & SP22 F1

That worked, thanks.

Anyone know what the 'D' members are in the PRINTQUEUE file or how they get created. There are about 6 of them.

Grant.

Re: RE: SP22 & SP22 F1

Grant,

My understanding is that if the JDE process (JDE process ID) creates 2 PDF's the 2nd PDF starts with 'D'. I've never seen a process create more than 2, but I'm sure someone else has.
