Third party report writer

A while back I heard that JDE was going to announce a third party vendor for a report writer. Then the PeopleSoft announcement hit. Has anyone heard or know of what is going on with a third party report writer solution for JDE?

Thanks.

Dear Stacy,

We have used both MS Access and Crystal Reports as a third party report
writing tool interfacing with mixed success with both OneWorld and
PeopleSoft data bases.

Crystal Reports is easier to use but MS Access is usually already licensed
to most clients who already have licenses for MS Office 2000 or XP
Professional so Access tends to be less expensive if the client already has
licenses for it.

For in depth Data Mining or Data Warehousing tools we have used Vanguard and
Cognos as mentioned in a previous thread but those can be expensive if
you're just looking for a report writing product for OneWorld.

Stacy,

you can use many third party report writers today, Crystal, Cognos, Access, the list goes on and on.

There is also an Excel based product called EasyReporting which provides
easy to use functions to fetch data out of OneWorld / World databases in
to Excel. It is installed as an Excel 'Add-In' and is good for ad-hoc
management information where the data elements are not always related to
each other etc. It requests a login to a OneWorld user profile and
adheres to the OneWorld security model so there are no problems with DBA
having to give direct access to the database etc.
