I'm new to the world of ERP back-end magic. How would you structure a training track to prepare me for CNC expertise that our department needs so badly?

Hi Crazy

JDE have their very own Roadmap for CNC training and I suggest you follow
it. Chat to your local JDE office or Account Manager. It doesn't pay to
take short cuts with this stuff.

Good luck and enjoy!

There are three ways to gain the CNC knowledge you need.

1. Go on a JDE training class - only available to customers and business partners
2. Go on an independent training class (like mine !) - open to all
3. Don't go on a training class, buy lots of manuals and struggle !

Better still.. Get mentored!

Hire, for a short period of time, an experienced CNC consultant (like me :)) to help you with the knowledge transfer. Specific one-on-one tutoring (IMHO) is alot faster than courses and learning-from-the-book-as-you-go.

This is not a place for selling - please

Wilson,

we agree that the forums are not a place for unabashed advertisements.

However both Jon's and Porup's replies were specific to the question asked and identified valid alternatives for obtaining CNC expertise.

Cheers,

While the list isn't really designed for selling, their options (porup and Jon Steel) do make sense. I've utilized both of their aformentioned options (including training from JDE) and they are very helpful. Plus, you usually save a lot of money compared to JDE classes in some cases.

Their recommendations are good options to consider, even though they may be obtained via the list. Just because someone could get paid for a service doesn't make the option bogus or, "non-listworthy". Just something to think about.

I agree. Didn't mean to cause a rucus but I figured most people already
knew they could look to consultants for help / on-the-job training, etc..

Just thought that option was a little obvious that's all.

Again, I apologize.

James
