\"Blank\" task view screen

I have a question about a situation that occurs sometimes for our CITRIX users. Every once in a while when a user logs onto One World they are presented with a “blank” task screen. There are no tasks listed at all on their screen. The only way they can get their tasks to display is to click on View, Task Views. Then their task views are displayed. The “save settings on exit” is turned on. Could this be a JDE.INI issue or something to do with security?

Re: \"Blank\" task view screen

Are you still at SP21_F1? Because with SP22 the way that works.

Are you saying the "problem" has been corrected wth SP22?

Re: \"Blank\" task view screen

I'm not sure if this is the issue, but there is a setting in the INI to tell the computer the first view to be shown:
[Explorer]
ExplorerStart=TASK:2000

Re: \"Blank\" task view screen

Jean,

We have TASK already set. What is the ":2000" you have behind TASK?

RE: \"Blank\" task view screen

I created my own view for all of the tasks we use, instead of using JDE's
views. 2000 was the next number it came up with for the view.

RE: \"Blank\" task view screen

Also, are you on update 7? there was a post previously:

We finally installed update 7 in our production environment. We were at XE
base. Found an interesting situation and I am not going to try to explain
why it happens but just that it happens.

We use solution explorer and have roles set up for each user. When we
originally attached the roles we never set an expiration date for the roles.

Here is what happened when we went live. DEPENDING ON THE MACHINE THE USER
LOGGED INTO (Citrix or regular fat clients) after clicking Find either all
roles would show up for selection or none would show up.

Tried many different things including updating ODBC drivers, etc.

The answer turned out to be adding an expiration date to each role the user
was associated with.

Like I said, I have no idea why this was machine specific. Just thought I
would share this with you.

Regards,
Dave

Re: RE: \"Blank\" task view screen

I'm not saying it is corrected. But is SP22 you have to have a default role in order to see any tasks.

Re: RE: \"Blank\" task view screen

Jean,

Thanks for all the help. I think I'll add our task number to the JDE.INI file. How did you find out about that option? The documentation I have found so far on the JDE.INI parameters is sparse to say the least.

Also, how can I determine if I am on update 7? We have only been on OW for a little over a year. I'm gaining a lot of ground pretty quick, but still in that "learning curve".
