We will soon be upgrading to Oracle 8.1.7. Currently are datasources point to JDBOCI80.DLL. Will I need to change this to JDBOCI81.DLL?

No Patty - you can leave it as is or change it - we have run both 80 and 81 versions (we are on Oracle 8.1.6) with no discernable differences.

Hi Patty,

I'd leapfrog Oracle 8.1.7.x and go straight to 9.2.0.1. I heard rumours JDE is no longer supporting Oracle 8.1.7.x or below after the 31st Dec 2003; as IBM and Oracle are no longer supporting such versions.. or something like that.

As for which driver, it doesnt make a big difference though I have read that JDE recommends JDBOCI81.DLL as their prefered flavour..

Hi,
We have upgraded to Oracle 9.2.0.3 and have not changed any DLL
settings from 8.1.6.3.0. We are still on JDBOCI80.DLL and have not
experienced any problems since the upgrade from begining of June.
