Solution Explorer and Windows XP

Hello List,

We are using Solution Explorer on windows XP Fat Clients. Initially, the fat client performs very well. It does not take long, however for the client to get extremely slow when navigating the Solution Explorer menus. The client still processes jobs at the same speed, but the menu is almost un-usable.

We have tried logging in as different users to XP and using different OW accounts, and found that once it is slow, it is slow for everyone.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? any ideas on what I should be looking at?

We are using OW ERP8-SP21/win NT4, SQL7/Win NT4, Win XP Fat Clients, Win 2K/Citrix XP Terminal Server clients.

Turn off System Restore in XP. That should help quite a bit. I think you'll notice that it isn't just limited to JDE, but that over time all apps start to run slow with it turned on. It's a huge resource hog.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and I already have it turned off. The solution explorer is still slow, but the oexplorer is not.
Any ideas?
