SQL vs. DB2 on Intel

I've seem some discussions here on DB2/400 vs SQL, but I need to know which database should I choose on the Intel platform? We'll be moving from the AS/400 to Intel (sob) prior to upgrading from XE to ERP 8 and I need some feedback to help me decide which database to use. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend SQL (or Oracle):

1. There are not so many DB2 UDB installs around and this
makes it a much less tested configuration.
2. People with DB2 skills are hard to find.
3. SQL is easier to manage.
4. Personally, I found the DB2 installation more painfull.

All these are about the risk, I cannot say much about the performance - I didn't have a chance to compare it properly (although, I had an impression that SQL was faster).

On the other hand, if you already have DB2-skilled staff (it's not the same as DB/400) and nobody who is familiar with SQL, then you should, probably, go DB2...

Regards,
Alex.
