Just CNC - Future

Friends,
Actually it was a miss fire by mistake. Anyways as we have started it..can you tell me would a person be called a "CNC\System Admin" if he/she does not have any development experience? Just Installation and ESU/ASU and related stuff in the same nature?

Wow...is this a can of worms!! I wouldn't classify anyone as "CNC" if
they simply knew how to install and/or apply A/ESU's. There is so much
more to CNC than those two areas. Heck, I've been doing CNC stuff for 5
years, and realistically, if I don't learn something new each day on the
CNC side, either I'm on vacation, or dead (today's new tidbit...version
security level 4). As far as the System Admin area is concerned...would
that be system admin from a OneWorld perspective...for instance, the
Citrix administration skill set from the standpoint of checking on
OneWorld users is very different from the skill set needed for a Citrix
System Admin.

However, your original question was "would a person be called a CNC admin
if he/she doesn't have development experience. The terms used in the JD
Edwards arena is that development knowledge and CNC configuration
knowledge are two separate areas, and are labeled Technical resource and
CNC resouces respectively. So yes, you can be a CNC admin without
development knowledge...but it sure helps!!! ;)

IMHO,

Jim

Sunny,
I think CNC\System Administrator would be an appropriate and impressive title.
And don't say "has just instalation and........". CNC people are very valued !
Best regards,
Dave
