Websphere 4.0 with SP20 on HP9000 JAS

We are trying to migrate to Websphere 4.0 on an HP9000 JAS Server. The Websphere 4.0 install went well, but when trying to reapply SP20 the install wants to put the files in the /opt\JDEdwards\JAS directory. With the slashes being the wrong way, it assumes that the / directory and fill up the root directory. It comes up correctly on the Installer gui screen asking where you want to put the files, but during the install, it shows it going to the /opt\JDEdwards\JAS directory. Has anyone experienced this? Has anyone done the WAS 4.0 migration?
