Dear List,

Dear list,

I am facing a problem Table Creation when applying XU7. R98407 is failing on creating all new tables in Business Data - TEST.

Regenerate and index creation returns with success. R98403 (Environment Database Creation) also returns back with success.

Would appreciate any ideas or tips.

Regards,

Xe, Update 2, Windows 2000, SQL 7.0

Just wanted to add:- The JDE.log file has repetitive entries like the following

Hi :

Have you checked that PUBLIC has rights to CREATE TABLE on JDE_DEVELOPMENT?

Regards, Sebastian

Thank you for your reply. Yes Public has permissions to create table.

Would it help if I can post a section related to one table from jdedebug.log.

Hi JDE4PSI :

Feel free to send me your jdedebug.log and jde.log.

Best regards, Sebastian Sajaroff

Want to thank Mr. Sebastian. He sent me good number of things to check and verify.

My service pack is 20.h The planner ESU that I have is JD17626. I downloaded the new PLANNER ESU JD19076 but did not apply it yet.

This morning I ran setup again from CD ROM (to avoid the possibility of corrupt spec) and verified that data base has unrestricted file growth. Also verified the that JDE_JD7333 database has 200 MB free. Ran the update install again and got same results.

I noticed a strange thing in my R98407 report. I have 82 no actions because "table format already correct" was the reason. There were only four tables for Control Tables - Test and all were created successfully. There were five System - B7333 and two Central Objects - DV7333 and all were no action. Now to Business Data - Test all new creation failed with Error except for these two: F76M503A (Tax Detail History File) and F9640S (ESU Dependencies). Both were created successfully. How and why I have no idea.

Regards,

I wanted to post the solution to the above said problem as it might help others directly or indirectly.

Mr. Justin Miller worked with me offline and helped in troubleshooting this problem. The problem I faced is documented in the following KG document.

Description <Q>

I am trying to run the R98407, but I am getting alot of errors. All of the
new tables are not created.

This worked fine for the other environments, but not for PD.

What is wrong?

These are the error messages in the jde.log before you run the R98407:

<A>

The client had refreshed the spec and bin 32 folders on the deployment server between when he applied Update 6 to DV and PY and when he applied to to PD.

There is a process that runs only the 1st time an ESU that has new tables in it, is applied. It is the TAM to TAM merge. This updates the PLANNER specs with the specs it needs to create the new tables.

To get this to run, you need to take the Advanced Setup Row exit in the Work with Software Updates Screen.

This takes you to the Advanced Software Update Setup Screen.

There you have to UNCHECK the TAM to TAM Merge check-box. This will allow
the TAM to TAM merge to run again, and correct this problem.

This list is a great source and even though I am an active participant, I want to thanks all those who are.

Thanks guys. Great Post. I wish everyone that had a problem that was fixed would post the solution to the forum.

After you unchecked the TAM to TAM box, what did you do to get it to run again?
