SP21

I am looking to upgrade our system from SP20 to SP21. I am aware that there
are 3 ESU's that need to be applied for problems found with R09801, but has
anyone had any other major issues with this service pack?

I had problems with printing after applying SP21. Had to apply "F1" one-off after SP21. Also, the documentaion for the one-off on your AS400 instruct you to run JDEUPDATE. Do not do this. You will not be able to bring up services once you run JDEUPDATE. Instead run LINKBSFN for each environment.

This is not true, each of those one-offs should be applied separately. Apply SP21, then apply the F1 one-off and run JDEUPDATE/LINKBSFN, then apply the print one-off and run JDEUPDATE/LINKBSFN again. You are safer with the LINKBSFN function than the JDEUPDATE, as LINKBSFN recompiles all of the BSFN's, vs. JDEUPDATE which does not..

I went on SP21 right away and yes there was / is a printing issue with it. The work around for this was to change your printer types to Postscript instead of PCL.

Now with the LINKBSFN and JDEUPDATE. I followed the instructions, LINKBSFN after SP21 and JDEUPDATE after the One Off's, Including SPX_005.

Run LINKBSFN after each of the one-offs, not just once after applying both
one-offs. I did it exactly as the directions said and had no problems with
port test. I asked JDE about people who have reported problems with
printing on this list, and they responded that it was due to those persons
only running the JDEUPDATE once after applying both one-offs vs. running it
after applying each one-off.
