Hi,
I have published jde in Citrix Server. From citrix client i am unable to export datas to excel. It says excel not installed on the machine.

I have installed excel in my client machine but i have not published excel in citrix server.

Is there a way out to export datas to excel without publishing excel on citrix.

regards
sathya

you don't need to publish excell in citrix but it does need to be installed on the box in install mode!

sathya,
i know this sounds like a silly question but you do have excel installed on the citrix box, right ?
or do users not have authority to use the application ?
you do not need to publish excel in order to use it to export.

How many excel licences do we need? If we have 100 OW users, and all of
them export from OW then do we need 100 excel(MS Office) licences. Is 1
excel licence sufficient and the export file be accessed by another app
like OpenOffice. All comments and arguments are welcome. Kindest
regards, Gopal.

After recently dealing with this issue at a client site...here's the
scoop.

Legally, according to Microsoft...you need an Excel license for every
user that has access to Excel on the terminal server...plain and simple.
Microsoft will tell you plainly...if a user will use a Microsoft
application even just once a year...you need a license for that
application. In fact, if you are audited, the rule that is used to
determine compliance is simply...for each application, you must have one
license per user who has the ability to access, irregardless of if the
user will ever use the application. Microsoft does NOT support the idea
of "concurrent" users...so you can't simply say that at any time only 20
copies of Excel will be running...so I'll only purchase 20 licenses.

So in your example...to be legal...you need to purchase 100 Excel
licenses.
