\"Lost\" a version... can I tamFTP them from Ent svr to a client?

Hi all,

Here's a challenge for you.

A user had left a batch version checked out, and deployed a full package (effectively destroying the version).

The version was never checked it, but it was executed on the enterprise server.

In my understanding, the spec for the version must still exist on the enterprSteve murphyise server.... is there some way (tamftp utility?) to get the version back from the enterprise server to the client pc, or to Versions - PY7333.

Cheers

Steve, great challenge, but I think it wouldn't work. As far as I know
tamftp works one way only, in direction up to the server. I wouldn't know
how to get tam-files ftp'd down to a WS.
If it's a production environment I would mess with the rdaspec files. How
much time did it take to create the version? Tell the user to create it
again. Good lesson to remember to check in in the future.

Thanks, Gerd

I never heard of it coming from the Enterprise server to a client either, but if you installed the package on the clients wouldn't you also have installed it to the Enterprise server, losing it just like on the client?

I noticed you're using Oracle.
Is your enterprise server a Wintel box?

No. Theres no way to retrieve the lost version if it were never checked in.
