Im investigating an upgrade from B733 to Xe.

Am I right In thinking the Object Librarian is now the OMW (Object management workbench). If so is there anything I should watch for converting.

Thanks.

No, nothing out of the ordinary to watch for during the upgrade itself.
But you might wish to take a OMW class prior to the Upgrade as it's a
whole different way of doing things compared to the relatively easy OL
check out/in and the Object Transfer application. There is also
considerable setup to perform inside of OMW to the Transfer Activity
Rules, Allowed Actions, and OMW default setting consderations, especially
if you have more than the "standard" DEV, CRP, and Prod (DV, PY, and PD
in XE).

Good Luck,

Jim

OMW is how you will perform the functions that you now accomplish with Object Librarian - check ins, check outs, promotions, etc. After using it for a while, I much prefer OMW over OL but, there are times when I need to get around the restrictions of OMW and use OL (OL is still included, it just doesn't work by default). Search the list for some detail on how to enable Object Librarian in XE.
