version issues

We recently updated to SP20. We are having problems with some of our
versions. when the user accesses that version, the check out and check in
are both greyed out.
Is this because the object may have been checked out at the time of the
service pack? Or was created at the time of the service pack? any help is
appreciated!

We ran into this issue the hard way ourselves...when we moved up to SP21, some of our UBEs were checked out. They were lost. Our consultant confirmed the problem, and we learned a hard lesson.

This is a know problem by JDEdwards that it's resolved installing the ESU JD18551.
