Fix Pack Levels

Hi List,
We are running UDB database as our enterprise database solution for JDE. We started out with FixPack 7a for UDB on the clients but ran into some issues with planner workbench. JDE and IBM recommended that we use FixPack 5 on all the Windows systems, so we did. Now are seeing some issues with code corruption while using OMW. We've been able to isolate the issue to FixPack 5.

My questions are:
Has anyone seen any issues such as I've described?
What FixPack levels are you running, if you run UDB?
Has anyone tried FixPack 8?

I've only used DB2 UDB as the WAS40 repository and for Local Serialized
objects for the JAS server. I was running FixPack 4 but didn't have any
issues. I will be installing a ERP 8.0/SP21 Intel/DB2 UDB system in a few
weeks so I'd be really in any issues you've had with the latest FixPacks.

What FixPack are you running on the server? Is FixPack 8 support yet?

We are running FixPack 7a on the Enterprise server and FixPack 5 on all of the Intel servers (WebGen, Deploy, Web Servers, Workstations, etc.). We started out with FixPack 7a on the Intel servers but ran into issues with the Planner Workbench. JDE and IBM recommended downgrading all of the Intel systems to FixPack 5. However, we recently discovered a couple of issues with FixPack 5 too. One issue being that we get code corruption in OMW. For this, we downgraded our development workstations to UDB client base until we get a resolution.

As for FixPack 8, I don't think it has been approved by JDE yet. I was told by a member of the GATS group that they are working on FixPack 7b currently.

I am still interested in hearing what levels everyone else is running.

Could it be that we are riding on the bleeding-edge?

Colin, did an AIX..DB@/UDB install 5 months ago and here's is what I
installed. Haven't looked lately, I'm sure the MTR's have changed by
now.
Hope this is of some use. This install was to an RS/6000.

1) Install AIX 5.1
2) Install DB2/UDB 7.2 Enterprise Edition (32-bit edition only)
3) Determine w/ JDE if Fix Pack # 7 is supported (call # is 5334844)
answer is NO
4) Download 32 bit version of UDB/DB2 Fix pack #4 and Fix pack # 5
5) Install DB2/UDB (32-bit edition only) Fix pack #4 and Fix pack #5
(see attached note for task # 22)
6) Install DB2 UDB 7.2 Run Time and Administration Clients (both
required)
