Hi List,
I am actually experiment ...
I am on road to install ERP 8. The platform I have chosen to experiment is NT. Here is the situation my Enterprise Server CD for NT has got scratched and I have to Install a fresh.

Can I copy the system folder from SP21 and place it exactly in the same folder structure and the bin32 and spec folder from a full package in the same way.

What do you all think will it work...

Actually, you can download the service pack from the KG and install the server that way. It works fine, and you don't need to go through the CD.

Hi,
Thanks for the confidence provided by you. While I was doing the couple of days back, porttest was failing and the jde log had the below mentioned line :

Any idea,.. what could be the cause...

Thanks in advance

Hello Sunnyind,

when you install the latest SP on your ES you just have the system on your machine. You do not get specs and dlls. Maybe you can build and deploy a server-package to your ES to get the pathcode.
Just an idea.

Herbert

Sunny,

does your system know the new machine? Check P9654A - machine identification... And I would recommend to check your ES JDE.INI

Sunny

Also make sure that in machine identification P9654A that the environment is listed.

Hey Folks,

I once did it this way...

- installed the Service Pack and services on the nes E - Server

- changed F9860 all BSFNs to 'client and server', (surely saved F9860 before I did that )

- built a client package on Depl

- copied the new dll's from the pathcode over to the enterprise server

- restarted jdenet services on enterprise server

- made a TAMFTP to bring specs over to the enterprise server

- set back F9860

- built a full Client/Server Package

- deployed the package

This - as you can imagine - just works on the WINTEL boxes, since we definetly need the pathcode dll's in the server's default pathcode.

Cheers,

Michael

Thank You All ...for your tips and comments.
I have finally DID IT. Installed the ES with just SP21.
I will be uploding the entire process in this very post shortly.
Sorry for the delay.
