Changing IP addresses

Hi list,

we have to change the whole IP addresses in our company from a range within 192.168.100.xxx to 172.20.xxx.xxx.

Do we have to expect any trouble with our JDE servers? (NT4 and W2K)... I will apply all changes to the host configuration files as well. Do we have to call for a new licence code eventually ?

Thanky for your help !

Oliver

Hi, Oliver.

I think you need change etc\hosts file on servers only and you don't need to call to JDE to recieve new license codes - because you don't change hostname.

Oliver :

You shouldn't expect any license or JDE trouble.
Be sure to update Wins & DNS servers, and check HOSTS and LMHOSTS files.
I would also purge local machine-address caches (nbtstat -R).

IP changes will not require a new SPC. In fact, OW doesn't care about IP
addresses for the servers. If you were to change the name, you would
have settings to change within OW, but you still wouldn't need to obtain
a new SPC.

Regards,

Jim
