I'm looking for anyone out there running OneWorld on the RS6000 using DB2 as
a database to see what your experiences are and what the issues are. If you
could let me know the version of OneWorld, AIX, DB2 and what model RS6000
you're running that be great.

Thanks

Colin

Hi Colin, small world. You are just around the corner from me. Are you
with Syntax or City of Guelph? Anyway, I completed an install (here in
Ontario) about four months ago. Feel free to contact me "offline" if
you would like to have a conversation.

What I can share with you quickly is the configuration.

1) RS/6000 = can't remember the model but there are two processors, 2GB
of ram and > 100GB of DASD
2) O/S = AIX 5.1
3) OneWorld = XE..SP 20_G1, planner ESU JD16916, XU6
4) DB2 = 7.2 Enterprise Edition, 32 bit

- for obvious reasons (or maybe not so obvious) do not use "jde" as your
UDB instance name
- unless they have improved "the scripts" in xe you would be wise to
install ERP8
- don't ask me why, didn't have enough time to figure it out BUT I would
double check the DASD requirements...we found them to be not even close
(perhaps they have updated the mtr's by now)
- there was some severe truncation on the C/O tables when being FTP'd
from the DS to the ES (there was an O/S parm. that resolved this, can't
recall it off the top of my head)
- if I'm not mistaken all the updated database creation scripts for UDB
were delivered with the planner esu..in the case of JD16916 there were
lot's of problems with the scripts (if they still deliver the scripts
the same way be careful not to get to far into the install without
getting your hands on the latest DB creation scripts)

ALL in ALL, the install went really well, I was quite impressed.
JDEdwards technical support was very helpful with resolving some of the
script and UDB issues. I could be wrong but I was informed that at the
time this was the 1st AIX/UDB install in Canada.

Hope this is of some use.
