Has anyone ever received the SEC0007-Unable to locate security server? What exactly does that mean and where do we look to resolve? Thanks in advance

This error means that OneWorld can not find the security server. If you are using Oracle make sure that services are set up. What OS are your client machines running?

When posting on the board you need to provide us with your system configuration.

We had similar issue last month. Users couldn't log in to OneWorld as it unable tot locate security server. "Waiting for security server" message displayed twice briefly and then "SEC0000007 - Unable to locate security server" message displayed. However some users managed to log in when retry button is clicked after this error messages, on OneWorld sign on screen, provided that they are already logged in to AS/400 green screen. In our setup, their AS400 system name and OneWorld system name are same. I couldn't test batch jobs under this log in. However problem disappeared later in the day with no apparent reason or fix. There was a problem in our corporate network so that external internet was not available approximately for the same period. Problem may be related to network or DHCP ect.

Several things can cause you to receive the SEC0007-Unable to locate security server error:

1) Network failure (usual)
2) JDE Services on the Enterprise Server are down (that is, the Enterprise Server which is acting as the Security Server). Sometimes I've had to bring down the JDE services and start them again for this to work.
3) Not having SecurityServer=NAME_OF_ENTERPRISE_SERVER in the [Security] section of the JDE.INI on both the client and the Security Server (read: Enterprise Server).
4) Nasal Daemon failure (rare).
