Customer Inquiry P4210 search

I am having a major discussion with our IBM team regarding a problem we are encountering.
IBM claims that users should be able to do wide open searches on P4210. They enter the Branch plant and on the Additional tabs they have the status range default from 520 to *. Our F42119 has over 20 million records in it.
When the user does a wide open search it takes over 90 minutes to return data. IBM is claiming they can do this at other clients with a response of less the 5 mins.
I called JDE but have yet to get a response. I have rebuilt the index for F42119.
Now If I change the search criteria from 520-998 information is returned in less then a minute.

Any suggestions on how you handle this at your locations.
Our Platform is NT SQL
Oneworld Update 4 SP18
Citrix.

Barb,

I believe the IBM team (consultants?) are correct. 90 minutes is insane!
Even the minute response time you have with the 520-998 filter is not very good, even though you have 20,000,000 rows.

There are many possibilities as to why things are so slow. Some examples:
- BSFNs mapped to Enterprise Server that is not large enough to handle those plus normal ES processes + Database server
- Database/Enterprise server undersized
- Database/Enterprise Server poorly configured
- Database itself (SQL Server) poorly configured
- Database not maintaibed (Statistics not updated, etc)
- Network issues

What version of SQL Server are you running?

Because of this we've made the default settings on the P4210 to search for *(manual setting) till 998.
This can de done in the PO of this application.
