Some interesting news:
Arbitrators have decided that JDE should pay $2.5M to Doskocil Manufacturing Co. of Arlington, Texas. There have been 5 similar cases this year (http://www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/erp/story/0,10801,78733,00.html)

Sprague Energy Corp of New Hampshire, Flexitallic Group Inc. of Houston, Texas, y Amherst Technologies LLC of Merrimack, New Hampshire follow with similar arbitration (http://www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/erp/story/0,10801,78735,00.html)

JDE clients are bound contractually to arbitrate, not sue (http://www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/erp/story/0,10801,69694,00.html)

Good articles, thanks. We were in the same boat. We abandoned the
pre-Xe version because we just couldn't get it to work. Once we went to
Xe, things stabalized.

Yep. Them and every other manufacturer of business software. It is a shame, but it appears that in these litigious times it is near impossible to implement software without being sued. You should see the size of some of the lawsuits directed at SAP. Since their clients tend to be larger, the number are sometimes staggering.

Interesting post.

Tim,
recently (less than a week ago) a stalwart of the UK economy ICI (a large chemical, paint and a few other things besides) wrote off 23 million GBP from a failed SAP project - its hard not to smile......
