JITI for \"W\" environments - JITI still occurs with it set to \"N\"??

Hello All,
We are in the process of chaging our environments to "W" environments on our Citrix servers. In our test instance, if we set the JITI to be "N" in the environment master and then delete the gbltbl / dddict / ddtext files from spec and then log in, I am still seing JITI occur?

I have three questions -
1) Is this supposed to happen - if so why is the flag there?
2) Do I need to set something else up?
3) If it cannot JITI down the information it needs does it just read it direct from the Central Objects or does it fail (I know about the building full specs for Terminal servers)

Thanks,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

It's been my experience that even with JITI set to "N" for the "W"
environments OW still needs some information when you sign on and it JITI's
that regardless of the flag. If you delete the Global tables and DD* files
then OW has NOTHING to work with and will have to get some supporting info
using JITI but once you sign on, the applications should still give you the
error "Just In Time Installation has been disabled for this environment."

Have you tried navigating after signing on or has the JITI at sign on
stopped you from going further?

If you are not getting this error at all as you navigate the applications
then you have a problem.

Regards,
Gerald

Re: JITI for

1. Yes, this is supposed to happen. The flag is more related to version and code installs. WIthout a replicated DD and GLB your system is not going to run. To prevent them from JITIing, create full copies using R98TAM and R92CRTGL.
2. See above.
3. OneWorld only will run off a replicated copies of the objects. It will not run directly off the Central Objects. If it is missing Object or Version code needed to run, the application simply will not run and will throw an error message simular to 'JITI disabled in this environment'.

RE: JITI for \"W\" environments - JITI still occurs with it set to \"N\"??

Why aren't you placing full dddict and full global tables on you're =
Citrix box as required?
