Hello list,
This is our localization issue :
Installed language upon domestic language : french
Customized software with setup and specific development (changed some standards, added home made)
Vocabulary overrides for data item provided by JDE :
English text records, domestic language
French text records in F alternate language
Vocabulary overrides for data item provided by the Business Partner doing the change :
French text records, domestic language
Nothing in F alternate language
Result :
For a french user (F in profile) :
All is french :
some french texts are coming from F records,
some others from domestic because there is not any french text ; but we entered french text in domestic languages ; so …
For an english user (domestic language in profile) :
Some items are english : those provided by JDE,
others in french : those provided by the Business Partner.
Not a problem at the moment because all subsidiaries using OneWorld are french ones.
But we plan to install OneWorld in a british company.
Two ways I think :
Clean one :
Translate all home made french domestic language into english
Retranslate all these domestic language records in french added F records
Change the usual way people are entering setup or are developing in OneWorld here :
learn them to enter first text in english (learn them english first)
then to override text with french one.
French users have got F in their profiles, english ones have got domestic language.
Dirty one, but cheaper :
Translate the french domestic into E overrides.
Do not change the way french people are entering setup, do not learn them english language.
French users have got F in their profiles, english ones have got E.
If you log in with domestic language, you stil have a mixed french/english OneWorld.
Is anyone experienced with that ?
