RES: Changing JDE Password Back to JDE???

I think you will get different opinions an this question. Here's another
one.
During the installation/upgrade OW will always want to connect to a
datasource using the actual table owner as database login when new tables
are being created. It will then assume that the password is equal to the
login. That is needed for table creation.
JDE is NOT a table owner for any OW table. When you log in to OW on your
Deployment server with JDE/passwd and the security server is turned off (as
will be the case for a new install) OW will connect with that JDE/passwd
combination to the database. So there would be no need to reset that
password. You will have all new Datasources (that is new
table-owner/password) for sys7334, dd7334, obj7334, Central Objects -
xx7334, and so on.
The only OLD datasource you will have to worry about will be your Business
Data and Control Tables for the environment your are actually upgrading. The
upgrade process will create new tables and indexes there.
So while running the workbench for upgrading the PY7333 environment you will
need to reset the password for crpdta and crpctl. When you run later on the
table conversion for production you do the same for proddta and prodctl.

Dear List,
I need some advice. I'm getting ready to install ERP 8 on the deployment
server. Do I need to change the JDE password back to JDE when doing the
upgrade
from Xe to ERP 8.0? We changed the JDE password (this includes: Windows
login,
password to access the database, server's jde.ini, JDE services, ...
basically,
it's everywhere where JDE is used) after the Xe installation. Any
complications
if I don't change the password?
