Applying XU6 hangs

We are able to complete the setup.exe part of XU6 installation.
When we log into JDEPLAN environment and apply it to our first environment the process hangs adding objects to OMW.
This seems to happen every time.
We ran it with logging on and the last few lines are pasted below. Does anyone have any ideas where we could start looking.

Re: Applying XU6 hangs - solution

I observed that we had over 200,0000 F98210 records. Considering the mdb’s were getting so large I started some purging running R98210B locally. This also would frequently hang.
Because of this and also because of something I read on KG I used the MS Access convert database utility to convert jdeplan and jdeb7 to access 2000 format (before we were getting errors about db could not be save because of incompatible versions).
I then ran repair and compact on the databases.
This shrank db size quite a bit; jdeb7 went from 950mb to under 500mb,jdeplan from 500 to 230 mb.
I then ran F98210B again, this time it did not hang. I then recompacted the databases.
This time when I applied XU6 to CN7333 it did not hang.
