Installing Vertex Update

To all,

Can anyone give me some guidance as to installing a Vertex update to DEV? I have looked over the manual, but it isn't very good.

Have you figured out how to do the Vertex update yet? If not, are you updating 'Sales and Use', 'Payroll'?

What do you mean - "update to DEV"? Vertex is one for all environments. In
our case it is an Oracle database. In order to update the database, you must
have Quantum Utilities. I have this program on the server and my PC. You can
use either of them, but I prefer my computer, because I am lazy and the
CD-drive is very close. When I get an update from Vertex Inc., I go to
password, server name - Oracle instance really). After OK message I go to
Update, chose the path (it's D:\ usually) and click GeoCoder at first and
Update Rate later.
That's it. The clicking takes faster then I wrote. The update itself can
take 15 minutes.

from Vertex Inc., I go to Start,Programs,Quantum Utilities. Click Connect;
fill the fields (UserId, password, server name - Oracle instance really)."
