Final Update - Payroll

Hi List

We have just run our first payroll in the production system for 491 salaried
staff. All seemed to go ok until final update which took 5 hours to process.
I would be interested to know from others using payroll what the timings are
for their final update as 5 hours is just not acceptable. Many thanks in
advance.

Marty,

That is an awful long time for final update. How long did your pre-payroll run? How long did the final update run in your test environment while you were paralleling?

On our system, pre-payrolls were taking an awful long time until an IBM consultant had us turn off "SQL PACKAGE BUILD" in the BSFN Build section of the ini. This decreased significantly the length of time it took to run a payroll.

I have seen payrolls run on '400s I've talked to people who run their payrolls on NT machines, neither run 5 hours for final update.

Our final (R07250) for 3,700 employees takes about 2 hours.

Thanks for this info Jeremy and Jack.

Prepayroll took only 4 minutes. What I didn't mention was that when I look
in the log for the final update there are a huge number of errors being
generated for duplicates on the F750002 table (NZ Tax Table). The job
actually completed with the figures we expected, just that 5 hours seems
excessive. I would be interested to hear from anybody in NZ / Australia who
is using payroll and has come across anything similar.

quick easy question, are you sure all the SIs for NZ/Australia were done in
all your ESU that you applied? This might just be a quick double check, but
that's what I would do.

Hi Marty,

Ours took around 30 Minutes for 1000 salaried employees.
And we have weekly payroll.
