Attachments Security

I have had a request from our Application Lead to place read-only security
on attachments for fixed assets only for all users except for a select few.
Is this possible, if so would there be any performance issues??

Dave,

Access the P00950 and select the exit "Row Security"
In the User field, input the user to which this security
will be attached.
In the table field put F00165 (All Media Object data is
stored here.)
In the Data Item field input NameObject (Alias OBNM).
In the From Value field input the GT name of the media
object that you want to secure. Ex: DD Glossaries are
GT92002.
In the Thru Value field input the GT name of the media
object that you want to secure. Ex: DD Glossaries are
GT92002.
Fill in the View, Add, Change and Delete fields according
to what you want the user to be secured from.
Click OK.
User's must log out of OW and back in before security takes
effect.
This type of security will not secure users from clicking
on the media object buttons but it will secure out the
actual media object records.

OT: Have you ever gone to the PLUG (Packerland User Group) meetings?

That does exactly what I was looking for. Interesting that the view only
users can add/change/delete the attachment with no error appearing, but the
changes are not saved upon exiting.

No, I have not attended the Packerland User Group meetings but some of the
others in our organization have attended user group meetings.
