Plant & Equipment Schedule

We are currently implementing the Plant & Equipment Module and experiencing problem with the Equipment Status Update (R12807).
The problems are:
-PMs generated when they aren't expected to be generated
- WO generated when not expected

TO attempt to resolve the problems we
- changed the PM schedule and Last completed dates
- altered the maintenance statuses
- WO statuses etc.
These did affect the PM schedules but with no clear pattern to allow us to control our planned maintenance.
Has anybody encountered similar issues or success with the P&E implementation? Much obliged if you could let me know a bit more about your experience in the P&E module.
