For those of you who use Product Packaging, you have a few obstacles with regards to DD delivery.
Obstacle 1:
Out-of-the box, the way that you deliver DDs is by creating change tables. As you have found out, the change table process (for DD in this case) goes against a reference DD (usually a pristine DD) to determine what has changed. The result is that you get everything that is different between your DD and the reference.
Internally, JDE has a process that actually extracts the DD items from the OMW project and only creates change tables for these items. Unfortunately, JDE has not made this process available in the PLANNER ESU.
However, the process is in XU6+ (the more recent XU you get the better.) If you take this ASU CD, you will have the UBEs necessary to extract the DD items from OMW. Let me warn you, however, that it will be quite challenging to get this to work.
Obstacle 2:
Even if you deliver only the DD items that you want with your ESU, you will only be able to deliver your DD items as new items. In other words, if you deliver a DD item, then you change that DD item in your next ESU, the change won't be delivered (try it yourself).
