Deploying full package

Good Morining List,

I am fairly new to JDE and need some help.
We recently built a full production package, which completed with no problems. It was built on our Deployment server, which is running NT. When we deployed it to a fat client running Windows 2000, problems showed up in several applications. We then deployed it to a fat client running NT and these same applications ran fine.

We are in the process of changing all fat clients to Windows 2000, so we still have several running NT.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to JDE and to the JDEList. This may be a stupid question, but are you putting the Windows 2000 machines into install mode before installing JDE?

Charles,

Sorry about the confusion.
We deploy the package through the Control Panel. I've done this several
times (with NT machines) and it has worked fine. Never had to put the
machine into install mode. Is it necessary with Windows 2000 machines?

Thanks for your time

Jim

Larry,

Typically, we deploy to fat clients through Add/Remove Programs (Control Panel). This hasn't caused problems in the past.

Jim :

Check that your PCs are MTR compliant
MTR = Minimal Technical Requirements, you can find them on the JDE KG.

What thype of application errors are you getting. Also make sure your client access odbc drivers are updated on your fat clients.

Cleolai,

Thanks for the input.
We have just narrowed down the error to an application written in-house. It appears that W2k is processing it a bit differently than NT does.

Jim, saw the post where you solved your problem. Congrats. Just wanted to add that using Control Panel, Add Remove Programs automatically puts the machine into Install Mode, so you have been using Install Mode, just not the cryptic manual method.
