Data Warehouse w/ J.D. Edwards

Hi -
We have been given a mandate to put in a datawarehouse from the new CIO, (company was just bought). On the AS/400 the data is J.D. Edwards financials, and the parent company has data on SQL Server. Is there any particular data warehouse package or system that works better with J.D. Edwards? The CIO has experience with Hyperion Essbase and wants to use that one.

Phil,
We at White-Rodgers went through a data warehouse selection process in
early to mid 2000, basically coming down to Silvon, Showcase, and Advanced
Systems Concepts. We chose Silvon. It may depend on how your data is set
up. Showcase could not get our JDE data loaded in a 3 day proof of concept,
but you might be better off than we were. Most of these vendors have JDE
customers and so have experience at loading from JDE. Showcase is based off
the ESSBASE software. Silvon and ASC are not. Hope this helps some.

Hyperion,Essbase is good for E-commm.But for pure
data-warehousing tools like e-piphany, clarify should
be good.
