BV, Advanced, Row Exits disabled

Frosty the Coder

Legendary Poster
List,

As I said before, I'm a _coder_ (programmer, developer, whatever).....

The CNC guy is ill w/stomach flu.
The Apps people are on site and have found that (suddenly) they can't do version manipulation as they are accustomed to.

They decided to call ME, rather than help desk, or another CNCer.

So JDEListers, I'm turning to you. What might have changed that would have disabled the version row exits.

Thanks.

Gene

The row exits display, however they are greyed out (disabled).
This is happening to all users (including IT).

OMW _seems_ to be letting me check out/mod/check in.
Are there settings for BV security somewhere?

What is it they need to do to the versions, and have you recently upgraded
the SP? Thought I saw a posting on jdelist that some of the version
manipulation was taken away with SP20. You may want to search the archives.

Re: RE: BV, Advanced, Row Exits disabled

They're setting up the customers versions as they always do.

We've been at sp20 for a while, and this happened w/in the past week.

I'm just looking for ideas to suggest to them.

Checked the application and action security on W98305J. Also check exit security for P98305.

We are the folks onsite trying to get this to work. Seems when we go to Batch Versions, pick a specific version, then choose the Advanced Row exit, the Checkin/out options on the Row Exits for the Advanced options are grayed out. They are also grayed out in the pulldown menu. We have no security setup at all. We are on SP20E1... HELP! What are we doing wrong? We are sure this worked 2 weeks ago.

This is actually by design. JDE is forcing you use OMW to do any check
in/check out of versions. There is a sar however that places this
functionality back. Either look in the knowledge garden or I will look about
and see if I can locate the number here.

Found it, SAR# 5972044. AT the time we pulled it, it was ESU JD#16377, but I
am sure it has probably been rebuilt since then.

Do you have access to the security workbench? It sounds like action security has been set up.

Can they, or your developers, use OMW to create & check in versions?

Yes - I do have access to the Security Workbench. There does not seem to be any security setup at all that I can see....

are these options greyed out in all environments?

I'd go into OMW Configuration, under allowed actions, whatever status
your default project is at (21 probably), and see if check out is allowed
for your role in your default project. Although you are attempting to
check the version out via BV, it's still using OMW activity rules.
Better question is, can you check out the version in OMW??

Are you doing this Batch Version Creation / Maintenance via Citrix? If
yes, you may need to make some changes to your JDE.INI to make this work.

Are you able to modify these Batch Versions through OMW?

Thanks,
James

Is the version already checked out to another machine? In OMW go to the form exit bar and do a search by object. In the OMW Object Name, enter the report and version in the format object|version.
