Thin Client

Hi list. We have had a mixed fat/thin client OneWorld site for several years. Most of our power-users are currently fat clients.

We are about to convert all users to thin client and would very much appreciate any tips or traps to avoid (eg - the Processing Options button is greyed out in Citrix).

Thanks
Grant Harding

Are you going Citrix, or possibly investigating the HTML client?

Grant,

what type of thin clients are you currently using? Web, Citrix 1.8, Citrix
XP, WIndows TS, etc.

Aslo what OS are you using for thin clients and how many do you have? Do you
run just OneWorld on thin clients or do you run office apps also?
How many thin client servers do you have? Do you do load balancing?

All these things greatly affect you environment and would be necessary to
know before a proper recommendation could be given.

There is an ESU to enable the Processing Options Button on TerminalServers BUT!!! so far there is no (supported) way that Oneworld will let you check out versions on thin Clients.

So that bit of development , like adjusting Data Selections to become definite, that is probably done by those power users can not be done that way. Need a fat client for that. Or a victim that is apointed to do those changes for them.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry my post was too vague. We are implementing Citrix XP across our WAN to remote sites. We currently use Citrix 1.8 on our LAN, but will also upgrade this to XP.
