Re: PDF files on C:\\, Citrix

Yes, also our users have their own 'home directory' and we also use
'OutputDirectory=I:\'
to point to their home directory, everything works fine if you open the C:\
for read/write/change
for the users, if you secure down C:\ (so the users can't create anything
in the root C:\) it doesn't
work because when you view a PDF via Acrobat, Acrobat uses C:\ to put its
workfile there before it
copy it to my home directory or whatever ........

Our problem is that we can not lock out users from the C:\ due to that
Acrobat use it for its
workfiles.

Whay about you, have you 'secured out' the C:\ for the users ??

Thank you for your valuble information.

Take care

Please respond to
jdelist

"Is it possible to put these files in an other dir. (like c:\wtsrv\temp)
??"
Yes.
"Can it be done by a jde.ini setting ??"
Yes. In the ini file, go ahead search words NETWORK QUEUE SETTINGS and look
for "OutputDirectory=". If you do not have one, add it in and modified it
as below:
OutputDirectory=C:\wtsrv\temp
(Make sure the wtsrv and temp folders exist in C:\.)
Ask user to log off OneWorld, sign back in and go ahead to view a UBE PDF
from OneWorld Submitted Jobs.
To verify the location of the PDF after viewing, go to OneWorld Explorer
menu and click on the drop down menu "View", "User Options", "View Local
Output" and then click on the down arrow symbol to see the file path. Lets
assume all users have the proper security clearance.
You should also make sure the jde.ini file you modified is the one used by
the users and the one distributed to all users if the full package is
deployed.
Does your user have his/her own directory on the share drive with his/her
jde.ini !
file. If so, as you delete the jde.ini file for that user in his/her
directory, next time he/she logs in to OneWorld the system jde.ini file
should automatically bring it down into his/her directory.
