hi rpaz,

Though I have not tried my hands on the Base line ESU's, but what I can tell you is that all customized ER will no longer be merged. You check in KG 5264183, Its was issue by myself.

The way around it is to have a backup copy of the object in either Save location or in some environment or apply the ESU with backup option and the retrofit useing the Visual ER Application.

thanks

Thank's for answering...

Ok, I've a backup, the big trouble is how to know what else got corrupted
and what would happend if I restore all the backup???, it would be as if the
ESU hasn't been applied... :(

By the way, I couldn't find the 5264183 on the KG.

This is standard. JDE will over-write your object with their own, since they are not expecting you to customize base JDE objects.

I wrote a document - which is freely available on my website - that talks about the correct procedure for implementing ESU's to Pristine, and then gradually promoting them through OMW.

I'm sorry you learnt the hard way ! Installing ESU's is no small thing...!

Documentations and print screens will help when time comes like this one. Or compare your screen and ER in PD/CRP.

Re: RE: Problems with Base Line ESU...

Hi rpaz,

Check with the support option checked. Anyways here's the Q&A
<Q> On applying the above mentiond ESU's ,vanilla objects didn't get merged even after setting the merge option to 1 for my vanilla objects. In the R98700 report the merge status showed changed, but none of the modification in the event
rules were preserved. In order provide some clarity in the senirio, the changes which we made like adding a new column or writing in a event rule where code never existed they were preserved, but in the event rules where we added a few more lines of code to the existing one, they got completely wipped off.Is there anything more that i needed to do?

<A> From Xe onwards, OW no longer comment off and append custom codes to the bottom i.e. Merge Option 1 will not merge your custom changes to the objects. If you look at the Software Update Xe manual, it says that after applying the software, you'll need to retrofit your modifications using the Visual ER Compare. Sent Visual ER Compare doc.

I am not at all suggesting to restore your backup. That's not the point at all.
Are you aware of the Visual ER tool. If not Good doc and multimedia presentations are available on the KG for Visual ER. You can just push your customised ER line to the uopdated ER. Adding on don't forget to check typedef of your processing options.

RE: RE: Problems with Base Line ESU...

Thank's sunny...

This gives me a clearly view and understanding. I think I should use the
Visual ER Compare to retrofit all modifications, and be careful next time.
