Vocabulary Overrides are seen unpredictably

Well Known Member
have recently made some vocabulary overrides to an application. They all work, but one thing made me curious. Sometimes, I was able to make the change to VOs, go directly to the changed application in OneWorld, and see the change. Other times, I had to close OneWorld entirely and restart it before seeing the change.

I made the changes to VO from OMW: In OMW I picked Design Tools, then Vocabulary Overrides, then made the change. Back in OMW, I did a Get from the Exit Bar (*not* from the center bar) and picked the path code where I had made the change.

I didn't have the applications I changed open during the VO change or the Get. Sometimes I had entered the application I was going to change before doing the change, but was still able to see the change without leaving OneWorld... *sometimes*. Other times it didn't matter whether I had previously opened the app or not, I still had to leave OneWorld to see the change.

Any ideas on this mystery? It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I think I will learn something about how OMW works if I can get an answer on this.

Thanks in advance.

Tim,

My guess is that it may have something to do with items that were already
cached versus items that weren't. You can clear most cache without exiting
OneWorld by doing the following - View - User Options - Form - Purge Cache.

Try this and see if this doesn't do the trick.

FWIW

Thanks,
James

When changes are made in the Vocabulary Overrides application, the changes are made directly to Central Objects. To get the specs you need to do a get or checkout or receive a package containing the specs of the object for which the VO is applied.

Thanks, James.

I had a feeling there was some way to clear the cache, but did not now how. I'll give this a try when I'm on site again and respond back.

Un saludo.
