Passwords not working...

Hi list...

We have recently upgraded from B7332 sp 16.1 to XE U5 Sp 19.1 and since then
on some fat clients it doesn´t matter that the user doesn´t type the correct
password, it lets them log in, but in some other fat clients the same user
can´t log in with a wrong password (as it has to be); all fat clients were
installed the same way...

We are not using Security Server.


Any ideas will be appreciate

If the ODBC on the client has been configured with Trusted Connection checkbox checked and the Server allows the Windows user ID in question to connect plus there's no OW security server in place, than it does not matter what password you type in: the client will connect using Windows Trusted Connection anyway...

You can fix this by removing "Trusted Connection" entry using regedit (or, better, regini) from every ODBC DSN in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\<DSN>". This can also be scripted...
