Enterprise Space for DV Package Build

How much space should be have free to build a full DV package?

We have 2.4Gb and our previous full DV was 1.9Gb. We don't want to delete
the current DV full
before we have built the new one.

I have cleared as much space as possible.

Have you deleted *all* JD7333 packages? You will never need to deploy them. Deleted old ESU's?

No I haven't as we have been told not to by other consultants.

How long should we leave our ESU packages on the system before deleting
them?

When is the last time anyone here actually used a Pristine Package? I have never deployed one myself and see no need to have over 5GB sitting around for nothing, particularly on a space challenged system.

If you have no need to the keep the package it makes no sense to do so. If you keep Pristine pristine you can just build a new package in the highly unlikely event that you need it.

Again, is there anyone on here who has ever used one?

As for the ESU stuff, you should keep that until you have installed the ESU to all environments and you are sure that you are not going to have to reinstall or use it again.

Another tip- Zip up the PrintQueue directory on the Deployment Server every quarter or so.

Yet another- How many "System Backups" do you need to keep form Service Pack installations? Once a new SP is installed and stabilized I would keep the backup from the prior SP and delete the next oldest.
