R42800

We have multiple versions of the R42800 running on our system for our nightly process. They are set up by branch.

We are looking out splitting this into further versions to speed up the process. Our concern is having different orders trying to update the same items in inventory at the same time.

Is anyone trying this or having success/problems with this?

Daniel,

Make sure that the R42800 is submiited to "the same" single threaded
jobqueue. On the KG the document "Configuring Multiple Job Queues for
Use By OneWorld" can be found which explains it all. Another document
can be found that sums up all the batchjobs that should run in a single
threaded jobqueue.

Depending on the user/time that the job is run you can assign the
jobqueue by:
- definining jobqueue in the version (Advanced)
- jde.ini of the user submitting the report
- runube (commandline Scheduler).

This way the jobs will be executed sequentally. Whether speed is won is
questionable, since speed can only be increased by running R42800 in
multiple instances (dataselection must exclude same lines). In your case
I assume you update inventory at sales update and would advise not to
run multiple instances of R42800.

Just a hunch! Feel free to shoot.
