Promoting Tasks

Since OMW does not promote Solution Explorer tasks from environment to environment, has anyone else figured out a method (or created a program) to copy specific tasks from environment to environment? We setup menus/tasks/task relationships in DEV, promote to CRP and promote to PROD. I tried copying the entire files and users who only have PROD access had their Favorites wiped out. I would appreciate any information on how Favorites are stored in the F9001, F9005, F9006 files, the data relationships so that I can save Favorites before overwriting the files.

to transfer.
