Business Merger with Data Merge

Good day all.

I am working on a project resulting from a business merger. The project entails (at a high level) the merge of business data from a OneWorld B732 ERP on NT/SQL Server into a OneWorld XE Coexistent setup on an iSeries. The larger company in the merger uses World A7.3 and is moving forward to coexistence.

I am responsible for the data migration from OW B732 to Coexistence. I am looking for ideas for the propagation and rationalization of data and known pitfalls I should avoid.

Any ideas from the mega-experienced folk would be very much appreciated.

We can better respond to your question if you list the
applications that are live on both systems. For the
most part, there will be little change other than
segregating GL data for prior years between companies
and the table structure changes for AR. There are
usually some asset revaluations and other tax items
that will need to be reviewed for correctness.
