Hi List,

Does anyone use hand held terminals for anything in OneWorld ?

If so, what devices do you use and what technology is used to pass data in
to OneWorld from them ?

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but I received a call from these people who sent me some literature about it. We will be looking into this sometime later next year for some projects, and may be using it for a OW citrix client for inventory and work orders. Looks pretty cool.

My recommendation would be to use thin-client (HTML) access from PDAs, notebooks, etc. It will require you introducing a JAVA server, but it's the easiest way to access OneWorld via handhelds.

Hope this helps...

Andy,

We use Intermec devices, I believe the interface is written in VB. The
company we bought the software from was a JDE BP. Email me off line if you
want more info.

Is anyone using the ICA Client from a handheld? This would eliminate the need for the JAS server.

We are doing PO receipts through Intermac guns. Data is transmitted to HTML server from the intermac guns who are running DC browser. From HTML server we do direct insersts into our custom table in Oracle Database. Data gets validated and then updated into EDI tables and then we do EDI PO receipts.

Pretty simple, fast and effective. Browser piece for intermac guns is written locally.
