Foreign tables

Is anyone out there familiar with foreign tables and an easy way to get them
set up?

Hi Libbi,

It depends on what you want to do with the foreign table. Take a look at KG document ott-99-0017, this takes you through setting up a dummy environment, a data source (which will be an ODBC entry allowing you to read/write to the foreign tables) and the OCM mappings. You'll now be able to use Table Conversion UBE's to read and write data using the foreign tables. The developers forum also has some good posts on setting up a Database Business view and dummy OW table which is often useful in accessing foreign data. Hope this gives you a start.

We will be using the foreign table for F47 files coming from another AS400
for EDI because our translator software is on the other box at the present
time.
