Fixed Assets Conversion (Mid-Year)

We want to convert our fixed assets before the end of the year. We would like to convert the assets into JDE at the currently depreciation value and maintain historical information in our legacy system. We are being told that we need to start our depreciation form January of this year. However, it is our fear that the end figures will not match. Has anyone done this before?

Tim,
I have worked on a few midyear asset conversions.
They can be a headache, but are reasonable if done
right. The most important thing to remember is that
the balance conversion will be a two step process.
First you must convert the balances for the end of
last year, balance the two systems and balance to your
general ledger. Then bring over the individual period
balances. Your depreciation calculations will be
close, but there will be adjustments in the first
period of the depreciation run on JDE due to
calculation methods.
