Hi List,

I am trying to use our old deployment server (new deployment server was installed 8 months back and working fine) as a client workstation. I removed all the JDE related folders/registry settings. When I try to install a full package on this machine I do not see any packages or the path codes on the workstation package selection screen. Any ideas why? thanks

Have you renamed the Server/workstation

No, I did not but I removed it from deployment server list on the machine id application and added it to the workstation list. Would that not be enough? Do I have to change the name and why?

Thanks

I guess when you added your new deployment server you did not take over the
name of the old server (this is the usual way). After attempting an install
on this server have you check the JDEINST.LOG? This will usually give you a
clue as to why it cannot see the available packages.

Thanks

Does the same thing happen on other workstations? Do you have filtering turned on at the workstation package selection screen?
