I am trying to install Java SP20 on a web server.
W2K SP2 Websphere 3.5 Fix4
However after dozens of tries the exe that starts setup doesnt start.
I can see the first installshield wizard screen saying about java virtual machine and then it disappears. In the Task manager list I can see the exe , I also see that a JRE 1.4.0 is extracted in a temp folder and then the processes are gone.
This is proven to have nothing to do with Websphere service (even though it is started) because
I tried to run Setup on many different machines. Some of it work nomrally I get the welcome screen and next steps, some of them do not start
Tried to run Setup on a different server W2K no java installed at all and it worked fine!
Tried it in my NT4 WKS does not work (jre 1.4.1)
Tried it in a NT4 machine having multiple jre's worked!
I am still in contact with JDE, however the development team said "its not our problem as it works on other machines". Fortunately for me the consultant who has the call still tries to help.
Anyone who had this problem also?
Any Ideas why woudl this happen?
Notes :
I am administrator/can run any application.
I have restarted more than 5 times.
Have disabled antivirus and / or any remote access
