Fixed Assets Conversion

Hi List,

We are planning to convert our fixed assets from a legacy system in to OneWorld XE. We are planning on using the z-file process. We currently use AP and GL only.

We are looking for real world (OneWorld) experiences.

Tim,

The Z procesws works extremely well converting data
and balance information. You will need to create a
Xref to handle your depreciation method (legacy to
JDE) and populate all the depreciation information.
Be sure the life that is loaded into JDE is stated in
months with the correct start depreciation date. This
will have significant impact on your depreciation
calculation in JDE.

Include in your test a full depreciation run to
compare expenses generated. They should be within a
few dollars per asset.

The easiest time to run the conversion is at a year
end.

FA Conversion Z file process Works fine but be aware that it will not generate the Accu Depr records, It generates only Cost records. I have faced this problem when I was implementing FA for my client in B7332 a year and half ago. Similarly make sure about your depreciation rules, as JDE provided depreciation rules may not support all of your needs..
